Boys lacrosse defeated the Damascus Hornets 11-4, April 28, improving to 6-2.
The Vikings took an early lead when midfielder Will Bumpers fed attacker Pat Slawta for an easy close range goal three minutes into the game.
Neither team scored for the remainder of the first quarter, but the Vikes scored half way through the second when Slawta received a pass from attacker Trevor Hains and finished with a high-speed shot.
The Hornets scored their first goal of the night just a minute later, but the attacker Booey Ghani gave the Vikes a two goal advantage when he rocketed a shot from long range with just a minute left in the half.
The Vikings opened up their lead in the third quarter, scoring three more goals while only allowing one and continued to dominate in the fourth, adding six more goals in the period. Slawta scored again with an unassisted goal, giving him three on the night. Hains had two in the quarter, including a long-range rip that hit the upper corner of the goal.
The boys will travel to Sherwood next week to take on the 4-3 Warriors in a tight matchup.
