The boys basketball team picked up its seventh straight win, crushing the 1-9 Walter Johnson Wildcats, 74-41, Jan. 4.
The game was a blowout from the start, with the Vikes taking a 19-6 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 40-17 at the half.
The second half was all the same with the boys extending the lead to over 31 points at the end of the third quarter and cruising to an easy 33-point victory.
Point guard Max Steinhorn led all scoring with 15 points while forward Adam Lowet recorded his first career double-double finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds, five being offensive.
After starting 0-2, the Vikings have now rattled off seven straight double wins, also picking up two over winter break in the Montgomery County/Fredrick County Holliday Challenge against St. Johns Catholic Prep and Fredrick High School.
“We have consistently hit shots and have had great intensity of defense which leads to easy baskets,” guard Ben Castagnetti said.
The team has been led with consistant offensive play from guards Kyle Depollar and Steinhorn who are both averaging over 11.5 points a game.
On the defensive side of the ball, center Scott Adkins is averaging 5.5 rebounds per game while 6’6” Josh Fried is averaging 5.2 rebounds and two blocks per game.
The boys will look to keep rolling at rival B-CC, Monday Jan. 6, where they will try to improve their record to 8-2.
