The ice hockey team suffered its second consecutive loss, losing 5-3 against the Churchill Bulldogs. Churchill’s record improved to 2-0 while the Vikes’ fell to 2-2.
Frequent penalties defined the game with the Vikings alone committing five minor penalties in the third period and 11 in the entire game.
Churchill got ahead early, scoring just over a minute into the game. After the end of the second period it was 3-1, Churchill.
Starting off the third period, Whitman made a run; forward Jeff Marr scored two goals 40 seconds apart. But then, Churchill came back thirty seconds later scoring a goal of their own. They then shot down any chance of a Viking comeback, scoring with around three minutes left in the game.
Marr led the Vikes with two goals and forward Andy Dexter also scored.
The team plays its next game Dec. 11 in a non-conference game against the Landon Bears.
