Thefts prompt school investigation

A pair of thefts prompted a school announcement March 17 urging students to not steal and to protect items they bring to school.

Before the announcement, a student’s cell phone was stolen from a backpack left by the bleachers, and personal items were stolen from another student’s backpack left by the auditorium.

Security hasn’t identified any suspects.

“Every once in a while we have a flurry of thefts at the school,” principal Allan Goodwin said.

Usually, the school’s security cameras can catch the incident on video, Goodwin explained.  In this case, the thefts occurred outside, where there were no security cameras.
