Pink crop tops, short shorts and lots of testosterone fill the gym as senior boys put in hard work to rehearse and prepare for the very best event the senior class has to offer: Guy Poms.
While the Guy Poms keep their routine a surprise, a few team members spoke to the Black & White Online to give a preview of their highly anticipated performance.
Ameen Khalil
Personal strengths: “I bring diversity and sexy legs.”
Favorite dance move: “My favorite dance move is the drop pop. Basically you get your hands in the air, spread your legs and just drop it. You’ll see it coming up soon.”
What to expect from him: “You can expect a lot of personality, volume, sass and flexibility from me.”
Jack Puglisi
Personal strengths: “The most outrageous jumping ability you’ll ever see from a Guy Pom. The way I leap is just beautiful.”
Favorite dance move: “The freestyle section. Freestyle.”
What to expect from him: “You should expect the brightest outfit of all time. I’ll have the most obnoxious and beautiful colors. It’ll be incredible.”
Joey Williams
Personal strengths: “Mostly swag. But as a legend myself, I feel I make the team more legendary. I kind of feel like I’m ‘the guy.’ I bring that to the table. But if we’re talking about a dinner party, I bring a mean salad to the table. I also feel like I bring muscles to the team. Muscles, swag and pasta dishes.”
Favorite dance move: “My favorite dance move is the naked because I look really good doing it.”
What to expect from him: “Like I said earlier, I am ‘the guy’. So you can expect me to be front and center with everyone looking at me and talking about me afterwards. Sydney, will you go to homecoming with me?”
Max Myers
Personal strengths: “My positive attitude. I give 110% every day and work hard on my craft. I’m a true professional.”
Favorite dance move: Double McTwist 1260
What to expect from him: A spectacular display of athleticism and flair, as well as a real leader out on the court.
Jack Storey
Personal strengths: “I bring spontaneity, fun, community service, physical attractiveness, an extensive criminal record and my one-time attitude to the team. I also have the best hair on the team.”
Favorite dance move: “Has to be the “dougie” and cat daddy combo.”
What to expect from him: “You should expect to see a lot more of me than you probably want to see. I honestly don’t know how weird it’s going to get. All I can say is that it’s possible that I make the entire gym uncomfortable. Including myself.”
