The 0-1 girls volleyball team suffered a disappointing loss on their season opener, falling 0-3 against the 1-0 Gaithersburg Trojans Friday Sept. 6.
Despite a lot of enthusiasm and effort, the Vikes’ inconsistency ultimately led to their downfall. However, in the third set, the Vikes fought hard and kept the score at a close 19-25.
“Although it was disappointing to start the season this way, our team has a lot of potential and if we keep playing tough we can do big things this season,” junior middle-blocker Lily Carlson said. “Also, fan support would be a great help.”
