The ice hockey team beat the Linganore Lancers 4-2, Feb 21, advancing to the State Finals.
Although the game started slow, the Vikes kept the puck in opposing territory for most of the first period, and with six minutes left, forward Zack Wolfe scored on a breakaway to put them up by one.

In the second period, the Vikes scored twice within 20 seconds, the first by Seth Butler, and the second by Wolfe. Entering the third, goalie Matt Bruns was posting a shutout. The Vikes scored once more in the period before letting up two meaningless goals in the last six minutes of the game.
The team will enter the finals a favorite to win as the winner of this region has won it all for more than five years running.
