The football team beat the 3-6 Walter Johnson Wildcats 28-14 Oct. 26, improving its record to 4-5.
The Vikings were led by their dominant defensive line and running back Zac Morton, who broke the school rushing record by carrying the ball 38 times for 283 yards and two touchdowns.
The scoring began when Morton picked up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown in the first quarter. The Wildcats quickly returned on a 20 yard touchdown pass.
In the second half, Morton took over, scoring two touchdowns. Running back Ian Himelfarb also added a touchdown.
Once the team took the lead, it never backed down thanks to its strong defense, anchored by defensive end Nick Sobczyk and defensive tackle Mark Hunley.
The team looks to close the season with a win when it takes on the 3-6 Paint Branch Panthers Nov. 3 away.
