The football team fell to its crosstown rival B-CC Barons 7-3 Sept. 30, dropping its record to 2-3.
Once again, the team’s offense failed to match its stellar defensive performance and the team fell just short of its opponent.
The Barons got ahead early in the first quarter when Barons quarterback David Hogan connected with receiver Jake Shapiro to put B-CC up by seven.
It proved to be a fatal blow as the Vikings were unable to overcome the first touchdown and only managed to put three points on the board.
Multiple penalties along with three high snaps plagued the team and prevented players from gaining any momentum for a comeback.
The Vikes had multiple chances to kick field goals, but they consistently tried for touchdowns, and fell short, which ultimately cost them on the scoreboard.
“It’s a frustrating feeling,” cornerback Justin Knighton said. “All we can do now is move on.”
The team takes on the 4-1 Quince Orchard Cougars in a must-win game Oct. 5.
