The girls volleyball team beat the 1-6 Kennedy Cavaliers 3-0 at home Sept. 27, grabbing its first win of the season and improving its record to 1-5.
On Thursday night the Vikes took the floor looking to net their first win of the season. The team had struggled in its first 5 games against tough opponents like Walter Johnson and B-CC. The Vikes’ strong offense helped win them the first set and their strong defense prevented Kennedy from making a comeback.
The Vikes won the second set and finally closed out the third set with great defense all around. The first win of the season is always a big deal for any team, but yesterday the Vikings broke free of a five game losing streak with a great win.
The Vikings look to further improve their record when they take on the 10-2 Richard Montgomery Rockets on the road Oct. 2.
