The girls volleyball team dropped its record to 0-5 with a 3-0 loss against the 4-2 Poolesville Falcons Sept. 20.
The Vikings lost to a well-rounded Poolesville team whose combination of a powerful offense and strong defense was too much for them to handle. The team played well throughout the whole game, but Poolesville’s strong offense proved difficult for the Vikes to defend.
Though the Vikings are still winless, they have hope to turn their season around. The team is capable of winning, but it takes longer than needed to get the ball rolling, setter Julia Greenberg said.
“We’re hoping to change our warm-ups to get us more ready to play, so hopefully that’ll make a difference in upcoming games,” Greenberg said.
Next, the Vikes will look for their first win Sept. 27 at home against the 1-3 Kennedy Cavaliers.
