The girls volleyball team dropped its record to 0-4 with a 3-0 loss to the 6-0 Walter Johnson Wildcats Sept. 18 at home.
The Vikes had hoped to net their first win of the season against a strong Walter Johnson squad who they had lost to just weeks before in a weekend tournament. The girls took the court with confidence but the strong Wildcat offense was too much for the Viking defense to handle.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and took the first set by a landslide with a score of 25-5. The Vikings tried to shake it off but once again the strong Walter Johnson offense over powered the Vikes. Walter Johnson robbed Whitman on a few shots.
The Vikings lost the second set 25-11. The third set was closer with a final score of 25-22 but once again the Wildcats prevailed.
The Vikings look to grab their first win of the season when they travel to take on the 3-2 Poolesville Falcons on Sept. 20.
