The softball team defeated the 9-5 Northwest Jaguars in a shut out match May 4, 3-0, improving its record to 7-6.
Both teams defended well, holding each other off for all seven innings. An extra eighth inning was played to break the tie. The Vikes were able to score three runs in the last inning while still maintaining their strong defense and preventing the Jaguars from scoring.
“We were up against a tough team and we really pulled through,” first baseman Cheyenne Bartolomei said.
The Vikings will look to improve their record on May 7 at home against the 5-8 Clarksburg Coyotes.
