Varsity girls basketball lost to the Churchill Bulldogs by just one point in overtime Jan 15, while the boys won 66-36 in their best defensive game of the season.
The boys came out strong, playing patiently and possessing the ball. With strong passes and key breakaways, the boys dominated the game all four quarters.
The boys gained a substantial lead early on and never looked back. They will face Richard Montgomery at home on Friday Jan 22. The Vikes won 61-60 against the Rockets in overtime earlier this season, but this time, the stakes are higher as both teams are top contenders for 4A West.
Guard Susan Russell had a season high 34 points for the girls while guard Ross Koehn had seven three pointers for the boys.
Both teams are now 9-3.
