The field hockey team fell to the 6-3 Wootton Patriots, 2-0, Oct. 17, evening its record at 5-5.
The Vikes fell behind 1-0 in the first half, but had several missed scoring opportunities throughout the game.
A lack of effective transitions kept the offense from scoring. Many of the team’s attempts to clear the ball were stopped at midfield by Patriot defenders.
The second half was similar to the first, with Wootton scoring another goal.
“We have two games until playoffs,” defender Valerie Acker said. “In these two games we have to improve our transitions and get our offense the shots they need, so we can have momentum going into the postseason.”
The team journeys to face the 8-2 Churchill Bulldogs Oct. 18.
