The boys soccer team beat the undefeated Churchill Bulldogs, 1-0, in overtime Oct. 5, raising its record to 7-1.
The game was evenly matched, as both teams alternated with breakaways throughout the stalemate. With less than two minutes remaining in overtime, midfielder Joaquin Torres scored the lone goal off of a give-and-go play, sealing the victory for the Vikes.
The Vikes are currently ranked 12th in the Washington Metropolitan area after this victory, the first of their division play.
The boys travel to Richard Montgomery to face the 7-1-1 Rockets Oct. 10.
