Girls tennis nets seventh win

The girls tennis team defeated the Churchill Bulldogs Oct. 4, 6-1, improving its record to 7-0.

The Vikes controlled every one of their matches to extend their unbeaten season.

Nicky Gottret dominated her opponent, winning her match 6-2, 6-4.

Grace Chandler, along with Anna Volkov, defeated their opponents in a tight match, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4.

Although the Vikes lost more games during this match than they had in any other match this season, they were still able to seal the win.

“Churchill has been a rival for such a long time and they are a very strong team,” Volkov said. “I’m really happy with the team’s performance.”

The Vikes host the Magruder Colonels Oct. 10 in hopes of maintaining their undefeated record.
