The boys soccer team beat the 1-2 Rockville Rams, 3-1, Sept. 17, improving its record to 4-1.
The Rams came out strong, scoring the first goal fifteen minutes into the game.
After this setback, the Vikes amped up the intensity and began putting more pressure on the Rockville goal. Midfielder Sebastian Cahe’s corner kick evened the score at 1-1, and the game remained tied until Cahe scored a second time with twelve minutes left in the game.
From that point on, the Vikes dominated play, keeping the ball in their offensive zone for the majority of the remaining minutes.
Forward Jordan Innerarity tallied the last goal on a shot to the left post to put the Vikings up 3-1 and out of Rockville’s reach.
“I thought we played okay in the first half; we created scoring chances, but we couldn’t finish them all,” Cahe said. “Then, in the second half, we played better as a team and finished our chances.”
The Vikes aim to continue their winning streak when they host the 1-1 Magruder Colonels Sept. 21.
