The boys lacrosse team beat the 10-4 Clarksburg Coyotes, 13-4, on May 9, raising its record to 8-4.
Although the Vikes were still without defender Connor Gordon, they still managed to pull out the victory, giving them the number five seed heading into the playoffs.
Midfielder Christian Sanson led the Vikes to their victory scoring eight of the 13 goals. Outstanding goaltending by keeper Alex Triay and good team defense helped secure the win for the Vikes.
Despite not being able to play, Gordon believes that the team needs to be able to take advantage of the offensive opportunities it can.
“We need to capitalize on our man up opportunities,” he said.
The Vikes will face off against the 8-4 number four seeded Walter Johnson Wildcats, who they lost to, 11-9, in their only regular season match up. The playoff game will be at WJ on May 9.
