The boys tennis team lost their second game of the season on April 13, a 7-0 defeat against the undefeated Wootton Patriots that dropped its record to 8-2.
The defending county champion Patriots brought a toughness that the Vikes weren’t mentally prepared for. Freshman Aries Wong had a hard-fought match but felt pressured to win, ultimately losing in three sets.
“They brought their A game today,” Wong said. “Their players aren’t necessarily better than us and the matches today were close, but their team was just ready to fight and take that extra inch to victory.”
The team will travel to BCC to face the Barons on April 28.
