The boys tennis team dominated the Wheaton Knights in straight matches on April 11, extending its record to 7-1.
Each of the doubles teams, consisting of Josh Lederman and Milan Dhar, Joey Gumataotao and Simon Amat, and Kevin Kay and Matt Lee each won their matches in straight games, 6-0, 6-0.
In singles, Sam Woodbury, Connor Mundy and Aries Wong also contributed to the win with scores of 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively.
Woodbury saw the match as a warm up for the team’s next match against the undefeated Wootton Patriots. He added that having everyone excel in their individual matches helped to keep their eyes on the prize, the division title.
“To do that we need to beat Wootton, and we think we can give the defending county champs a tough match,” Woodbury said. “We know that if everyone’s playing well we can beat them, so all we have to do is go out there ready to play.”
The team will host the BCC Barons on April 28.
