All eyes have turned to the Heat in the NBA

After the Miami Heat blew out the Cleveland Cavaliers by 28 points in the game many referred to as the “Return of the King,” it seems that the Heat have finally gotten on track.

After a disappointing 11-8 start, the Heat failed to live up to the hype that they received in the offseason. However, for a team consisting of so many superstars in Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James, it’s natural for a team dominated by egos to take some time to gel together as a team.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra seems to be the scapegoat for the Heat’s woes, and is criticized for playing the three stars too much of the time. It’s hard to share the court with two of the league’s top scorers if you’re James, Wade or Bosh. Spoelstra, however, is trying a new coaching strategy in which one star player plays at the time. When this happens, the team consistently shows success.

The Heat will eventually find their rhythm, as they have shown flashes of true dominance. In games against Cleveland and Washington, the big three played team basketball and took over the game.

This year might not be the year for a championship ring, but next year fans can expect to see a new Heat team that works together perfectly. They will likely make the playoffs this year, but may find trouble to advance into the later rounds as they are still trying to figure out a consistent playing strategy.

Only time is the solution for the “Miami Thrice’s” problems as the more the three stars play together on the court and begin to understand each other, the more success they will have. It’s very possible that the Heat will develop into a dynasty just as James predicted after he and Bosh signed their long-term contracts with the team, but teamwork will be the deciding factor.
