Drumline “got busy” with the same performance that won them second place at the county competition. Poms—guys and girls—showed off their new routine and the break-dancing team performed to “oohs” and “aahs” from the crowd.
This was no ordinary homecoming rally. This was Whitman’s first Winter Pep Rally. The SGA proposed the assembly, which featured athletes from wrestling, swimming, ice hockey and basketball, after students requested a winter rally to honor more athletes.
SGA advisor Sheryl Freedman said she predicts that the winter pep rally will become an annual tradition, and adds that students might be able to expect a third rally in the spring.
“I think this rally was successful,” she said. “It was a nice way to recognize other athletes and get the school into a unified setting.”
