Michael Jackson’s career lives on with the posthumous release of his single “This Is It,” on October 12. The track marks the first new material made public by the King of Pop since his death in June.
Reportedly written and recorded in the early 80’s, the song is a mid-tempo, optimistic tune that features the vocals of Jackson’s brothers in the background. The vocals are accompanied by an orchestra and timely snaps.
The single will be played during the ending credits of an on-screen documentary about Jackson, also titled “This Is It.” The film will open nationwide for a limited two-week run on Oct. 25.
