From Oct. 2-3, the cross country team traveled to Cary, North Carolina to compete in the Great American Festival.
The girls started off the day by competing in the Race of Champions. The Vikes were led by senior Shayna Barbash and sophomore Anna Ryba who worked with one another throughout the course of the race. In the last few meters, Barbash pulled ahead finishing two seconds in front of Ryba. Both runners received best times for the season of 19:13 and 19:15, respectively.
Seniors Andrew Palmer and Brandt Silver-Korn led the way for the Vikes in the Seeded Boys Invitational Race. Palmer won the race by 11 seconds with a time of 15:40 while Silver-Korn’s time of 16:27 earned him a fifth place finish.
