The boys lacrosse team (5—4) rebounded from two straight losses and won in a tightly contested 10—9 victory over the Quince Orchard Cougars on Monday.
The Vikes started the game sloppily, only mustering a single goal to the Cougars’ three at the half.
“We were focused coming into the game,” defender Nick Higgins said. “But they came in hot and wanted it more than we did.”
The Vikings retaliated by scoring nine goals in the second half. Attacker Garrett Wilcox had three of those goals.
The team was disappointed with their performance, despite finishing with a victory.
“We have a bad habit of playing poorly against less talented teams,” Higgins said.
There are three games left before the playoffs, and the team hopes to ride consecutive victories going into the playoffs.
The Vikings play next against Blair on Wednesday at 7:15.
