The girls lacrosse team made their season debut Tuesday night, starting off the year with an impressive 12–2 victory over the Springbrook Blue Devils.
The Vikings dominated on offense for much of the game, thanks to a strong front line and good communication.
“We played well as a team—we worked together to get a win,” said attacker Hope Hilsenrath. “We had a lot of successful cuts and transitions.”
Although the team was successful from the start and ended the first half with a 6–0 lead, Hilsenrath said that their performance improved after halftime.
“The second half we were much more careful with our checks and we were looking to assists instead of going straight to goal,” she said.
Although it wasn’t a shutout, the team was pleased with their 12 points, which came from players including midfielders Eden Gray, Emily Schweitzer, Gaby Svec, Maddy Kostopulos, defender Grace Steinwurtzel, and attackers Hannah Ginsky and Hilsenrath.
After the break, the girls’ next game will be April 4 at Sherwood at 7:15.
