The girls basketball team returned from a week-long break Saturday and crushed the WJ Wildcats 80–26 to improve to 11–3.
The Vikes have dominated their conference, winning by at least 19 points every time. This game was no different: the squad held the Wildcats without a shot for the first two minutes of the dominant victory.
The Vikes stifled WJ and went into the half up 46–9, not letting the opposing offense get anything. Guard Abby Meyers put up an impressive 19 points in the first half.
The team extended their dominant performance into the second half, with all eleven players scoring in the contest. They also shot 23 for 32 from the free throw line.
Abby Meyers led the way with 29 points, forward Betsy Knox added 11 and guard Hannah Niles contributed 10.
The Vikes’ next game is 7:15 Monday at Rockville.
