Girls basketball crushed the Blair Blazers 79–27 Friday night, marking the team’s third straight victory and improving their record to 4–2.
The Vikes put pressure on the Blazers from the get-go, forcing multiple turnovers and jumping out to a 20–8 lead at the end of the first quarter. They put up another 20 points in the second quarter, with four different players hitting threes in the quarter to head into halftime leading 40–19.
The Vikes kept up the pressure for the rest of the game, as the Blazers only added eight points to the scoreboard throughout the second half.
“Defense was one of our strong suits [Friday night] and we worked together really well,” guard Sophia Tompkins said.
Guard Abby Meyers scored a game high of 23 points, including three three-pointers. Guards Hannah Niles and Marie Hatch and forwards Livy Meyers and Betsy Knox all scored in the double digits.
The Vikes host the rival B-CC Barons Monday night at 7:15 in their final game before winter break.
