Beijing issues red alert due to dangerous smog covering the city Monday
Schools closed and the government placed restrictions on car use until noon today. This is the first time since 2013 Beijing has raised the alarm to its highest level. Supreme Court hears an affirmative action case this week
The case, Fisher v. University of Texas, was brought by a white students who claims that the University of Texas denied her admission because of her race. So far, most justices seem unconvinced that affirmative action is constitutional. Justice Antonin Scalia drew controversy after saying that minority students with inferior credentials may benefit from a “a less advanced school, a slower-track school where they do well.” Click here to learn more about the case.
Supreme Court will not review laws banning assault weapons
