Two people open fire on a holiday party in San Bernardino Wednesday, killing 14
The shooters, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, were married with a baby. This marks the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S since Sandy Hook in 2012. The motive is currently unknown, and the two were killed in a shootout with police. In addition, last week a man opened fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado. Mark Zuckerberg announces that he and his wife will donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares to charity
Zuckerberg, cofounder and CEO of Facebook, vowed Tuesday to donate the shares, currently worth more than 45 billion dollars. The pledge was announced in a letter to their newborn daughter Max. The pair said they were forming an organization called the Chan Zuckerberg initiative to manage the money. Click here to learn more about the announcement.
British planes begin bombing Islamic State targets
The parliament approved airstrikes in Syria, and began the first strike just hours later. The United States and Britain have aligned together in the past in bombing ISIS targets in Iraq, but the had U.K. refused to enter the Syrian border. Prime Minister David Cameron vowed to expand the U.K.’s military contributions against ISIS after the terrorist attack that killed 130 people in Paris.
