The field hockey team breezed by the Seneca Valley Eagles Friday afternoon, winning 6–1 to improve their record to 7–4.
The team got off to a hot start when forwards Jenna Haque, Elsa Bjornlund and Zara Memon all scored within the first ten minutes of the game.
Midfielder Mattie Robinson finished off the half with a goal, making the score 4–0.
“Time had just expired, so if the ball left our circle the half was over,” Robinson said. “I got the rebound off the goalie’s pads and pushed it in.”
The Eagles attempted a comeback, notching their first goal just five minutes into the second half. But the Vikes refused to let them crawl back into it, adding two more insurance goals from Bjornlund and forward Ally Mundy.
The squad will host the Gaithersburg Trojans (2–9) Wednesday at 6:00 in their final game of the season.
