The girls tennis team dominated the Blair Blazers 7–0 Monday, advancing their overall record to 7–0.
First singles player Carina Greenberg had an impressive showing in the match, handily defeating her opponent 6–1, 6–1.
“She hit good attack shots and slices, but she wasn’t that consistent,” Greenberg said. “I just made shots and mostly tried to come [to the net].”
Key contributors in the match were first singles player Sarinah Wahl, who won her match 6–0, 6–0, and first doubles duo Lauren Evoy and Olivia Matthews, who crushed their opponents 6–4, 6–1. The rest of the team followed suit, with every player winning their match in straight sets.
The squad hopes that this matchup prepared them for the bigger competition they’ll face later on in the week.
“Blair is a division one team just like B-CC and Churchill, so we gotta play against the level we’re going to be going against [this week],” Evoy said.
The Vikes play away against the 3–3 B-CC Barons Wednesday at 3:30.
