U.S to open borders to 30,000 more refugees in 2017
Secretary of State John Kerry said the the United States will admit 100,000 refugees in 2017, an increase to from the usual cap of 70,000. The U.S will admit 85,000 in 2016. The news comes after the migrant crisis in Europe has forced many countries to close their borders. However, the response still does not address the entire problem. Carly Fiorina soars to second place in Republican field after debate performance
Fiorina climbed to second place with 15 pecent support behind Trump’s 24 percent, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. The poll showed that 52 percent of Republicans who watched the debate deemed Fiorina the winner. During the debate, Fiorina scored support over her opposition to Planned Parenthood. Pope Francis visits Cuba on his way to the U.S
Francis met with Fidel and Raúl Castro, promoting a “life of service ‘to people, not ideas.’” Francis called for reconciliation and dialogue between Cuba’s government and its opponents. The country has been subject to communist rule for more than five decades.
