The boys soccer team dropped its second straight game Tuesday night, falling 1–0 to the Blake Bengals.
The Vikes offense had trouble creating scoring opportunities, with the young group of forwards failing to get on the scoreboard.
The Vikings struggled to find their rhythm, as the Bengals scored in the opening moments of the game, before playing a safe defensive game for the remainder of the night.
“We lost 1–0 to a silly mistake in the second minute,” defender Matthieu Maciejewski said. ‘Blake just held a back line of seven players and we couldn’t get a shot on.”
Goalie Ian Atkinson was also unsatisfied with the result, commenting on the team’s lack of cohesion in attack.
“We did not perform well as a team,” Atkinson said. “Our attack and midfield were unable to connect in the final third. We were attacking as individuals rather than a team.”
The Vikings host Quince Orchard next Tuesday at 5:15, hoping to return to winning form.
