In the girls tennis team’s first official match Friday afternoon, they cruised by the QO Cougars 7–0 to start the season off on a high note.
The squad dominated, winning most of their matches in straight sets.
First singles player Carina Greenberg made her debut for the Vikings cruising by her opponent 6–0, 6–0, while first doubles combo Lauren Evoy and Olivia Matthews won their match 6–0, 6–2.
Second singles player Sarinah Wahl had a closer contest, but ultimately outlasted her opponent 6–3, 6–1.
“I tried to be consistent because my opponent made a lot of mistakes, hitting the balls out or it went to the net,” Wahl said.
The Vikes will look to continue their success on Wednesday, where they host the Northwest Jaguars at 3:30.
