D.C. rabbi sentenced to 6 ½ years in prison on voyeurism charges.
Barry Freundel, a former highly respected Orthodox Jewish rabbi, was convicted and sentenced for secretly videotaping dozens of women as they prepared for a ritual bath (mikvah). Columbia student carries mattress at graduation, ending her year-long protest
Emma Sulkowicz carried a mattress with her around campus all year to protest Columbia’s handling of her sexual assault. Sulkowicz’s protests made Columbia the center of the recent movement to change how colleges handle sexual assault. Click here to learn more about Sulkowicz and her protest.
Adnan Syed, subject of popular ‘Serial’ podcast, receives a break in his case
Syed, who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend in 2000 in Baltimore, will now receive a new hearing which may bring testimony from a new source. Click here to learn more about the case.
