The boys tennis team took down the Northwest Jaguars Monday afternoon, beating them 6–1 in the team’s final match of the season. The win propelled the team to an 11–1 record on the season.
The Vikes were dominant in nearly every match, as most players won in straight sets.
Number one singles player Andrew Leung won his match 6–0, 6–0, and number two singles player Matt Yang won 6–0, 6–1.
Yang cited the squad’s hard work in practice for such an easy victory.
“In practice, we play against each other to challenge ourselves,” Yang said. “So when it comes to teams like Northwest, we are able to easily win our matches.”
The only match the team lost was third doubles, with the duo losing in a tight tiebreaker in the third set.
The Vikes finished the season on a strong note, as they claim an 11–1 record. The County Championships will take place this weekend, with many Viking players competing.
