The boys volleyball team, who celebrated their first win in over three years last week, landed their second win of the season against Seneca Valley Monday in a 3–0 triumph.
Because the Eagles have yet to win a game this season, the boys went in feeling much more confident than usual, which led them to have more swagger in their play.
“[Coach Floyd] let us have some fun at the end, and everyone had fun because we played more relaxed and as a team,” outside hitter Harrison Jacobs said.
Playing as a team was beneficial for the boys, with all three sets going well. The Vikes were able to concentrate on their offense for the majority of each.
“We had a good height advantage, and offense got a lot of kills,” Jacobs said.
Nonetheless, the Vikings showcased their capabilities on defense as well, allowing the Eagles fewer than 20 points each set.
“Defense had good passes,” Jacobs said. “That enabled [Stefan] Greenberg to give the hitters nice sets.”
The now 2–8 boys will play the Paint Branch Panthers Wednesday at Paint Branch, hoping to build on their newfound success.
