The boys tennis team routed the Magruder Colonels Saturday morning, beating them 7–0 and improving their record to 10–1 on the season.
The Vikes dominated every match from the get go. First singles player Andrew Leung won with ease, beating his opponent 6–0, 6–1.
“We were on different levels of play, so it was fairly easy for our team to pick up the victory,” Leung said.
Second singles player Liam Rotzoll picked up a 6–1, 6–2 victory, and third singles player Oscar Levine won 6–1, 6–1.
The Magruder squad only had six players, so they were forced to forfeit their number two and number three doubles matches.
The Colonels play a division lower than Whitman, so were not expected to be able to keep up in the match.
With the win, the Vikes improved their winning streak to six games, and they clinched back-to-back double-digit-win seasons. They will play away against the Northwest Jaguars in their last regular season game Monday.
