The 0–5 boys volleyball team lost 3–0 to the B-CC Barons Tuesday at home, marking a continuation of the team’s sustained losing streak.
“It was a setback from spring break. We were playing well before then; we kind of lost our progress a little,” defensive specialist Kueho Choi said.
B-CC took the lead from the start, beating down the Vikes’ defense 25–8 in the first set.
The second set played out similarly. B-CC players argued with many of the calls made, but it ultimately made little difference in the outcome of the set: they won 25–11.
The boys made progress by the third set, but were still unable to match the Barons’ skill and fell 25–18.
“We lost a lot of the energy that we had in previous games, and I think if we get back with the motivated attitude and the determination to win we can play really well,” Choi said.
Additionally, several members of the refurbished squad dropped out after spring break to focus on football training.
The Vikings will travel to Magruder Thursday at 5:15 to play for their first win of the season.
