The boys basketball team (12-10) ended their regular season on a high note by defeating Northwood (6-16) 58-49 in their season finale.
The teams played even in the first half, as the Vikings led 12-11 after the first quarter, but trailed 22-21 at halftime.
The Vikings slowly pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Gladiators by five points in both the third and fourth quarters.
“Playing close games earlier in the season has helped us execute late in games,” guard Shaq Diboti-Lobe said.
Diboti-Lobe led the team with 15 points, going 7-20 from the field.
Center Anton Casey had a double-double for the Vikes with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and JV call-ups Kieran Kindig and Jack McClelland combined for 13 points.
The Vikes clinched the three seed in the division, and will host Churchill in the first round of the playoffs Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Vikings won both matchups against the Bulldogs in the regular season, including a one-point win Feb. 2.
