The football team won its second straight game Friday night after thrashing the WJ Wildcats 50-24, improving their record to 4-4.
Quarterback Evan Smith had a huge game, completing 16 of 27 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns.
The Vikes raced out to a 14-3 first quarter lead, and led 35-3 at halftime.
Running back Jacob Pitsenberger, who scored four touchdowns on seven carries, said the Vikings simplified their game plan, and didn’t give the Wildcats any opportunities to keep the game close.
“Each one of us did our jobs and came together as a team,” he said. “They just could not stop us.”
The Vikings were able to utilize their tight ends throughout the entire game, as Austin Deramus had 120 yards receiving and a touchdown and Anton Casey scored on a 58-yard touchdown catch.
Wide receiver Nolan Hanessian also scored a touchdown and had 77 yards receiving.
Entering the fourth quarter leading 42-3, the Vikings pulled many of their starters out of the game and gave the bench a chance.
The Vikings will have a week to prepare for a Halloween clash with the arch rival Churchill Bulldogs, who are 5-3 this season.
