Despite playing well for stretches of the game, the football team lost to Quince Orchard 45-14 Friday night, as they were unable to match up with the Cougars’ size and physicality.
Tight end Anton Casey had another productive game, hauling in six receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
However, the Vikes found themselves in an early hole, trailing 21-0 in the first quarter.
Quarterback Evan Smith was 15 of 21 passing, but also threw three interceptions.
“We played with pride,” Smith said. “Unfortunately we weren’t able to put our best step forward given the numerous injuries, but that’s life.”
In his first start at running back, Gunnar Morton rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown.
The Vikings will look to get back into the win column next Friday at 6:30 when they take on the 0-2 BCC Barons.
