The Lady Vikes dominated the Richard Montgomery Rockets, 52-22, on Wednesday improving its record to 9-2.
The team was led in scoring by freshman guard Abby Meyers who registered 12 points with two three-pointers.
After a slow start, giving up 10 points in the first quarter, the Vikes tightened up their defense holding the Rockets to only 22 points the entire game and only four, six and two points in the remaining three quarters respectively.
“After halftime we definitely stepped it up,” center Ally Markel said. “By the end of the game we had forced 33 turnovers.”
This marks the eighth straight win for the girls who seem to be on a roll.
“The girls lost once to RM last year during the regular season so we wanted to win to show them that we have what it takes to win,” Markel said.
The team will travel to Montgomery Blair to face the 7-1 Blazers this Friday looking for its ninth straight win and to secure its tenth win of the season.
