The Lady Vikes basketball team was defeated by Bishop McNamara this Saturday in a close match, 47-42.
The team was led by forward Avery Witt with 10 points, six of which came by 3-point field goals.
The Vikes led throughout the entire game until the fourth quarter when Bishop McNamara, led by Simone Smith with 14 points, had an offensive explosion, scoring 16 points as a team.
Guard Hannah Niles found the game to be a success despite a tough loss.
“Even though we ended up not winning the game,” Niles said, “we all agreed that it was a great learning experience.”
Niles also thinks that the team’s defense is improving dramatically as the season goes on.
“We played great defense and with captain Maddie Cannon taking a couple charges it really showed how much we are improving every game,” Niles said.
The girls will face the Wootton Patriots at home this Monday to attempt to secure their second win of the season.
