The Lady Vikes basketball team blew out the 0-2 Rockville Rams, 55-33, after a tough loss to Good Counsel, making its current record 1-1.
The team dominated the entire game, scoring about 15 points in each of the first three quarters. The Rams fell behind quick and lost momentum due to a potent offense.
Forward Alison Poffley credits the team’s first win to playing as one cohesive unit.
“It really helps that we have very good team chemistry,” Poffley said. “We have played together for a while now so we are used to each other’s game.”
The team was led in scoring by forward Avery Witt with 13 points, followed by freshman guard Abby Meyers with 12.
The team will rely on young talents such as Meyers to carry them to victory this season.
It will face Bishop McNamara high school this Saturday on the road, and will be looking for its second strong win of the season.
