The boys soccer team defeated the Richard Montgomery Rockets, 1-0, in the second round of the playoffs.
Emmanuel Kanneh stood out in tonight’s game, scoring his second goal of the playoffs.
The team is looking better each week and is carrying a ton of momentum through its playoff run.
“Over the last few weeks, things have started to click,” defenseman Jorge Richardson said. “People are back and healthy from injuries, we are learning to play together as a team and love each other like a team.”
Freshman goalie Evan Cameron had another superb game in goal after filling in for Ian Atkinson, who was injured in the last game of the regular season against the St. Benedict’s Grey Bees.
The boys will face Walter Johnson Thursday night in the third round of the playoffs in the section finals.
WJ has defeated B-CC and Blair on its way to its game against the Vikes and will be a tough opponent, as they have been in past years.
The game will most likely be another close one, as the team has allowed more than two goals twice this season due to strong defense and goalkeeping.
