The boys soccer team improved its record to 4-2-1 with a 2-1 upset over the undefeated Gaithersburg Trojans.
The team started off strong with an early goal by forward Emmanuel Kanneh and then another late in the second half by forward Johnny Schenider.
This win was a huge confidence boost for the Vikes, who had previously lost to the sub-par opponent Richard Montgomery in overtime.
“When we come together and play as a team we are very, very good,” mid-fielder George Xourias said. “It was definitely a moral booster to get a win against an undefeated team and it should lead to great things in the future.”
The Vikes were finally able to get the ball in the back of the net and continued to play well defensively as the team has kept every game this season close.
They held the potent Trojan offense to only one goal throughout the entire game.
The team has not lost by more than one goal this entire season and is looking to keep a similar trend going.
The team will face the 7-1-1 Churchill Bulldogs at home this Monday and looks to secure another huge win.
