The boys soccer team fell to the 2-5-1 Richard Montgomery Rockets, 1-0 in its third overtime game, lowering its record to 3-2-1.
The boys started off the game by dominating the first half pace and controlling the ball in the middle of the field with strong defense to back it up.
Despite this strong start with a majority of the possession time, the Vikes were unable to create a large amount of offense due to injuries.
Defensive starter Lucas Knight is out with a concussion so the team needed the normal midfielder, Jeff Rosenberg, to step down and play left back.
“I think that as a team we found out that we have a lot of work to do in terms of team chemistry,” Rosenberg said. “We have plenty of talent, and certainly enough to beat a team like Richard Montgomery.”
The team will look to forwards Davey Mason and Emmanuel Kanneh to score some much needed goals.
The Vikes will travel to Gaithersburg tomorrow to face the 5-0 Trojans.
